Great value for healing
Worth the investment with a lot of actionable tools, daily quotes, injury specific humor, and it’s easy to use. Has been a useful tool on my recovery journey. It’s a small price to pay for something that offers tailored guidance in terms of healing support. Obviously, some injuries are longer than others, but the five-month approach got me through the tough times!
THE recovery journal - actually helps, there is no question
Other injury journals that I’ve come across are much cheaper, but they literally have the same page repeated throughout the entire journal— you get what you pay for. This one is different - it’s well-designed with a variety of relevant content that takes a genuinely humorous approach to the recovery process. The intuitive layout makes it easy to navigate and the thought-provoking exercises have challenged me to rethink my approach to recovery. And I loved the motivational quotes and funny cartoons peppered throughout — they are so relatable. Plus, the lay flat capability means its I can easily write in it. For anyone who is unfortunate enough to need it, this journal is the standout and I can't recommend enough—it’s a truly valuable tool that supports and guides healing!

Awesome recovery aid to help with mindset
The exercises in the back really provide some outlet and perspective. It helped identify different hobbies to try while limited physically, and ways to further understand the emotions I was feeling when stressed and angry. Having had a chronic low back injury, I would ruminate on it and the expressive writing exercise helped me to better make sense of my injury and get my thoughts on paper and move on. Really tailored towards injuries and thoughtfully designed so as not feel like homework or be overwhelming whatsoever. Great weekly humor and high quality. Definitely recommend!

The team at BounceBack clearly did their research… this journal applies scientific rigor to the long, difficult process of injury recovery, combines it with mental health resources and awareness, then adds a sprinkle of humor and light-hearted fun to keep us entertained - no matter the specifics of your injury. From practical tips to inspirational quotes across a spectrum of leaders, politicians, theorists, authors, & famous personalities, it’s a worthwhile resource to gracefully guide (and reflect upon) one’s recovery - in my case, from back pain. And I’ve loved that they kept the date layout open-ended (you can circle the day of the week & add the date to each entry… see photo) so that if I miss a day, it’s not a glaring error compounding the pressure to recover “on time.” Thanks BounceBack!

I absolutely love the recovery journal and have found it so helpful. As far as the aesthetic, it's extremely high quality - I love the hard cover and paper quality (it looks like a coffee table book in the best way), and fits with every decor. It's intuitive and actionable, but is flexible and doesn't pressure you. It's designed to fit within your healing parameters. I think what I love most is the daily inspirational quotes, and the humorous cartoons throughout. Lastly, what I've found is that this isn't just about physical healing, it's also about mental and emotional healing. It's designed in a way without pretension or force - it's to help you create your own journey, and have fun and inspiration along the way. I'm a big fan and highly recommend!
Actionable exercises that help shift mindset
The toolkit towards the back of the journal offers several helpful psychology-based exercises. While some, like expressive writing and the feeling wheel, were entirely new to me, others provided a fresh perspective on classics. For instance, the exercise involving writing a thank you note to someone who has supported your recovery journey may sound simplistic, but the journal breaks it down in a way that truly resonates. For each exercise, they explain both the 'why' and 'how-to', offering clear guidance. I was surprised to find myself actually doing these exercises, enjoying them, and they were helpful!

Haven’t seen anything like this before -- and I have a lot of experience with injuries
This is a true injury recovery journal! As someone who has faced many orthopedic injuries & surgeries, I thought I knew the ins and outs of recovery and doubted I needed “help.” I couldn’t be more wrong. This journal reframed and expanded upon what I knew – the exercises in the toolkit really helped me. It captures all of the stuff that docs don’t talk about, but that significantly affect daily life (sleep, setbacks, emotions, mindset). And it does so in a humorous and insightful way – I actually want to use this thing. It’s completely transformed how I approach recovery, and also has proved relevant in the ‘staying health’ phase (post injury). Highly recommend.

I have been an orthopedic/sports physical therapist for the past 25+ years and have rehabbed numerous individuals following significant trauma or surgeries. The mental and psychological side of rehab is often overlooked by the orthopedic community. This journal is a great resource for my patients to measure progress, set goals and reflect on every step of the journey. It is well thought out and even incorporates humor along the way. I often say the "long road is the best road" to my patients and this journal is a great way for them to reflect on the emotional and psychological aspect of recovering from an injury. Highly reccomended.
Great recovery tool after surgery
I broke my upper arm over a month ago and had to have surgery. I’ve never had surgery before so I didn’t know what the recovery was going to look like. I quickly learned there is a lot of time alone after surgery and it can feel lonely at times. This guided recovery journal helped me get through those tough days. It’s a great hands on tool to help deal with the mental health aspect after a big surgery or procedure. Highly recommend!
Great journal to help recover!
The journal is a great resource to help recover from an injury. It's organized very well and provides a template for each day to track sleep, pain level, and mental state. There are also motivational quotes and toolkits to help you stay motivated and energized as you recover.
Great recovery tool - love the appearance, design and functionality!
The lay flat aspect of the journal makes it extremely usable and easy to write in. The cover is very durable, and the interior pages are high quality preventing bleed through. Love the packaging as well — clean and professional. I’m really excited to use this! Also, I really like 5-day week (instead of 7) — gives me some flexibility for the inevitable missed days. Definitely worth it!
Really love this journal
I have really enjoyed this journal so far. Going through rotator cuff surgery and rehab is a beat down. The journal has made my progress and recovery feel a lot more tangible. It's also lighthearted and uplifting and the comics break up a normal boring notebook. It's very high quality and well put together. I don't write reviews often but everything about BounceBack has surpassed my expectations. I also downloaded the app to connect with people going through similar surgeries.
Effective and beautiful recovery journal!
BounceBack's journal is incredibly effective at helping to track recovery for any injury. A valuable recovery tool for any injury
I used this journal while going through a shoulder separation recovery - no surgery, just physical therapy and pain management. Capturing and tracking my daily progress (and setbacks) in the journal initially felt repetitive and unnecessary but proved invaluable in the long run. My recovery seemed to plateau a few times throughout the process and each time a brief review of my past journal entries highlighted the reasons for the disruption. I also reviewed my entries with my PT during our follow-ups which almost always influenced her ongoing recovery plan for me. Minor details (sleep, diet, daily routine, etc.) proved extremely important in my recovery and the journal was a great way to capture those dynamics and their effects.While I hope I never need this again, I would definitely use this journal for any future injury recoveries!

I have chronic back pain from scoliosis, disk narrowing and slippage with nerve impingement. I have suffered from this for many years. The mental and physical aspects of constant pain can be very hard to deal with. I have had countless treatments and programs to try and achieve pain relief and relief of mental anguish, as constant pain can be very depressing. I found with the Injury Recovery Journal that I am recording what I am doing from day to day, my pain level, my state of mind and my positive thoughts. By following my comments and course of action I find this to be very encouraging and keeping me interested in staying with my course of action. This journal has been a very positive part of my program.
